On October 19, 2017 at 5:19 p.m., Hampton officers responded to Mount Royal and Route 8 for a two vehicle accident. The accident occurred when the operator of one vehicle was distracted by a GPS unit and struck the other vehicle from behind. Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
