On February 1, 2018 at 2:04 a.m., a Hampton Township officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Wildwood Road Extension for an expired registration plate. The operator was found to have a suspended drivers license. The officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. The driver also had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and upon exiting the vehicle, was unsteady and used the vehicle to maintain balance. The operator was unable to complete field sobriety tests as had been explained and demonstrated and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
