[ARCHIVED] Hampton Council February Meeting Actions

Hampton Township Council held their Regular Meeting on February 28th; actions from the meeting included, but not limited to:


- Enacted Ordinance No. 807, amending Ord. No. 397, by changing the selection of the Environmental Advisory Council Chairperson from designation by Township Council to election by the Environmental Advisory Council.

- Granted a request from Allegheny County for exemption from the Township's noise ordinance regarding the Duncan Avenue Resurfacing Project.  Duncan Avenue will be milled and paved, and guiderail and drainage will be installed from Route 8 to Thompson Run Road, with an anticipated begin date of May 2018.  Allegheny County requested exemption of the noise ordinance to work between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

- Approved an independent roadway pavement assessment agreement with RoadBotics for all Township owned and maintained roadways.

- Enacted Ordinance No. 808 relating to soliciting and peddling in the township.  Two main changes to the soliciting/peddling regulations include a 30-day permit at $100 with an additional $25 charge for each additional person, as well as 7:00 p.m. as the cutoff time for solicitation to cease.  Certain exceptions apply; please refer to Council Legislative Actions for a complete copy of the ordinance.

- Authorized the replacement of certain taser units through the Capital Improvements Program Budget for the Police Department.

- Awarded a contract to Meyer Excavating, Inc. regarding the Yarmouth Drive storm line replacement project.

- Authorized the advertisement for bids regarding the annual construction/sanitary sewer equipment rental bid program.

- Adopted Resolution No. 984 approving the Allegheny Valley Joint Sewage Authority 537 Plan.

- Approved the request for release of funds from the improvements security associated with the Guardian Storage Revised Site Plan.

- Referred the Wildwood Sports Center Group Business Conditional Use and Wildwood Sports Center Revised Site Plan/Lot Consolidation (proposed indoor sports training facility at 2330 Wildwood Road)

- Authorized the advertisement of a public hearing for Wednesday, April 11, 2018 associated with the Wildwood Sports Center Group Business Conditional Use.

- Authorized the advertisement of a public hearing for Wednesday, March 28, 2018 associated with a Liquor License Transfer request into Hampton Township from Mero Hampton Inc., dba Stack'd, located at 5055 William Flinn Highway.

- Discussed the upcoming community events:  Litter/Clean Up Day on Saturday, March 24th (volunteers needed), Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31st, Hampton Community Library Trivia Night on Friday, March 9th, and the Depreciation Lands Museum Tavern Night on Saturday, April 7th.
