On April 14, 2018 at 3:59 p.m., Hampton Township Police were dispatched to Route 8 for a truck that was reported to be on fire. Upon the officer's arrival, the fire was found to already be extinguished. The fire was caused by smoldering brush that was in the bed of the truck. The operator believed it was likely started by a log that he placed in the bed of the vehicle that he had taken from his fire pit.
