On April 27, 2018 at 11:51 p.m., a Hampton Township officer observed a vehicle traveling on Route 8 well below the posted speed limit. The vehicle then struck a curb on the right side of the road, and a traffic stop was initiated. The officer was able to detect the odor of an alcoholic beverage while speaking with the operator. The operator showed other obvious signs of impairment and was asked to perform field sobriety tests. The operator was unable to complete the tests as had been explained and demonstrated and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
