On June 1, 2018 at 10:29 a.m., a Hampton Township officer came across a two vehicle accident on Route 8. The accident occurred when the operator of one vehicle attempted to make a left from the northbound passing lane of Route 8, entering the path of an oncoming southbound vehicle. The operator stated that they were waved on by another vehicle operator who was in the southbound passing lane, and did not see the third vehicle traveling south in the curb lane. One vehicle had to be towed from the scene due to extensive damage.
