On July 12, 2018 at 2:57 p.m., a Hampton Township officer was monitoring a 40 mph speed zone on Route 8, when a vehicle traveled through at 62 mph. The officer then initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on Route 8. Upon speaking with the operator, the male driver advised the officer that he did not have his driver's license with him, but did provide a name and date of birth. Upon running the provided name and date of birth, the officer observed that the male in the driver's photo associated with the provided identification information did not appear to be the same individual that was driving the vehicle. The operator was asked multiple times to confirm his identity, and insisted that he was the individual he had provided information for. The officer was able to obtain photographs of tattoos for the individual that the driver had provided information for, which did not match the tattoos that were on the vehicle operator. Through further investigation, the officer was able to obtain a name and date of birth for a related individual. Upon running the name and date of birth for this other individual, the driver's license photograph matched the vehicle operator and the male was found to have a warrant from the Allegheny County Sheriff's Department. The male was taken into custody and transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
