On April 13, 2019 at 12:09 a.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Route 8, near Anderson Drive, for a two vehicle accident. The responding officer observed two severely damaged vehicles with both operators standing on the side of the road. Upon speaking with both operators, one showed visible signs of impairment. The accident occurred when one operator was stopped on Route 8, in the southbound lane, waiting to turn left onto Anderson Drive when they were rear-ended. One operator was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Both vehicles had to be towed from the roadway due to extensive damage.
