[ARCHIVED] Hampton Council April Meeting Actions

April Council actions

Hampton Township Council held their Regular Meeting on Wednesday, April 24th; actions from the meeting included, but not limited to:

- Recognized Community Services Director Alex Zarenko, who will be retiring May 10th, for his twenty-eight years of public service contributions and community service to the Township. (photo attached below)

- Authorized the advertisement of a proposed ordinance adopting a new Personnel Policy Manual.

- Adopted Resolution No. 1009 authorizing the submittal of a GTRP grant in the amount of $250,000 for the community park trail.

- Approved the following purchases through the Capital Improvement Program Budget for the Police Department: 1) license readers for patrol units, 2) replacement of Police Station base radio system, and 3) replacement of portable breath testing units.

- Adopted Resolution No. 1010 amending the Personnel Policy Manual adopting the Police Operations Manual.

- Awarded contracts to Shields Asphalt Paving and Youngblood Asphalt Paving regarding the 2019 Road Paving Program.  Roads to be paved in 2019 include:  Arizona Drive, California Drive, Greenfield Road, Linwood Drive, Ohio Drive, Clareville Road, Kilbert Drive, Amleth Drive, Lucy Drive, Meadowcrest Drive, Summit Drive, McIntyre Avenue, Degenhardt Road, Lakewood Road (cul-de-sac only), and Talley Cavey Circle.  Roads to be sealcoated in 2019 include:  Drake Court, Mallard Drive, North Pioneer Road, and W. McNeal Road.

- Approved the replacement of the Hampton Baseball Complex scoreboards by the Hampton School District.

- Adopted Resolution No. 1011 approving the Lightbridge Academy sanitary sewer planning module.

- Granted approval of the Wildmont Farms Preliminary PRD (18-06) with conditions, and requested modifications.  Modifications approved as follows:  1) Approved request for no connection to Crestview Drive, subject to the addition of a turnaround area at the end of Crestview Drive; 2) Approved the cul-de-sac length no greater than 2,505 feet; 3) Granted request to reduce the requirement for setback from a top of bank of any water course, pond, lake or wetland to 20 ft. subject to the submission of a Geotechnical Engineer's report proving that the existing pond's dam is structurally sound and documenting its condition; and 4) Approved use of 2.98 acres surrounding the existing pond as suitable active recreation open space.

- Approved the Miller Simple Subdivision (19-01) located along Mt. Royal Boulevard with conditions.

- Selected Pashek+MTR as the consulting firm for the update of the Comprehensive Plan.

- Approved an Amusement License for Just Between Friends retail sales event at the Wildwood Sports Complex - 2330 Wildwood Road (event to be held May 15th through 20th).

- Approved the request for an extension of the plan recording time limit for the Lightbridge Academy Revised Site Plan (18-08).

- Referred the Giza-Eat N' Park Subdivision/Lot Consolidation (19-02) and the Uhl Contractor's Storage Yard Revised Site Plan (19-03).

- Discussed upcoming community events, which included the Depreciation Lands Museum Children's Heritage Day scheduled for May 5th, and the Memorial Day Ceremony scheduled for May 27th.
