On July 31, 2019 at 6:01 a.m., Hampton Township Police were dispatched to Route 8 for a single vehicle rollover accident. The involved vehicle was located on it's side, blocking a southbound lane of travel. The operator was already out of the vehicle and was not injured. The operator stated that they were traveling south on Route 8 when a deer entered the roadway. The driver stated that they swerved to avoid striking the animal, which caused the vehicle to strike a guide rail and roll over. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.
