On September 18, 2019 at 1:36 p.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Route 8, near Craighead Road, for a two vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicles pulled off of the roadway. The accident occurred when a vehicle was traveling in the northbound curb lane of Route 8. A slow moving vehicle then entered the roadway, and the other driver changed lanes into the passing lane to pass the slow moving truck. The operator failed to see a vehicle stopped in the passing lane, waiting to turn left onto Craighead Road, and struck the stopped vehicle. One vehicle occupant was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
