On November 16, 2019 at 11:25 hours, Hampton Township Police responded to the area of Route 8 for a vehicle that was reported to be operated in an erratic manner. The reporting party advised dispatchers that the vehicle had struck a barrier and drove up onto a sidewalk. A Hampton Township officer intercepted the vehicle in question, along with an officer from a neighboring jurisdiction. A vehicle stop was initiated after the officer observed traffic violations. The driver showed visible signs of impairment and was unable to complete field sobriety tests as had been explained and demonstrated. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
