On December 9, 2019 at 7:42 p.m., Hampton Township Police received a report of attempted fraud. A resident from Mount Royal Boulevard reported that they received a phone call from a male claiming to be from Publisher's Clearinghouse. The male told the reporting party that they had won a large sum of money and asked for some personal information. The reporting party was aware that the call was likely a common phone scam. Following the phone call, they obtained contact information for Publisher's Clearinghouse and made contact with the organization by phone. They were advised that Publisher's Clearinghouse does not make contact with winners by phone under any circumstance. They then reported the suspicious phone call to police.
