On February 19, 2020 at 8:17 a.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Middle Road for a vehicle rollover accident. Upon the officer’s arrival, the vehicle operator was found to still be inside the rolled vehicle. The officer immediately detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. The operator was able to exit the vehicle and showed visible signs of impairment. The accident was said to have occurred when one vehicle was stopped in the traffic lane, waiting for another stopped vehicle, when it was struck from behind. The one operator was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to extensive damage.
