On May 17, 2020 at 5:31 p.m., Hampton Township Police and Fire Department responded to a parking lot on Route 8 for a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle that was fully engulfed in flames. Members of the fire department were able to extinguish the fire and the vehicle was towed from the scene. The operator stated they were traveling on Route 8 when the engine compartment began smoking and caught on fire. There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
