On August 26, 2020 at 10:45 a.m., Hampton Township Police were dispatched to the area of Route 8 for a report of an erratic, possibly intoxicated driver. The reporting party advised dispatchers that the vehicle in question had almost struck another car and guide rail and was swerving all over the roadway. A Hampton Township officer was able to intercept the vehicle on Route 8, observed multiple traffic violations, and initiated a traffic stop. Upon making contact, the operator displayed signs of impairment. Upon further investigation, the operator was also found to be in possession of drugs and paraphernalia. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for possession and suspicion of DUI.
