On December 16, 2020 at 7:02 p.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Route 8, at McCully Road, for a two vehicle accident. Upon arrival, one of the involved vehicles was observed to be partially off of the roadway, hung up on a curb. The accident was said to have occurred when one vehicle was stopped in the southbound passing lane of Route 8, waiting to turn left onto McCully Road. The second involved vehicle observed the stopped vehicle ahead and attempted to stop, but poor road conditions caused by heavy snow and ice resulted in the vehicle sliding. The operator attempted to swerve into the curb lane, but slid into the rear of the other vehicle and then continued across the right lane and up onto the curb.. One vehicle had to be towed from the scene due to disabling damage.
