On January 4, 2021 at 8:44 p.m., Hampton Township Police were dispatched to the area of Sample Rd and Laurel Lane for a reported intoxicated driver. The reporting party advised that the vehicle was driving in the oncoming lane and was traveling at a high rate of speed. A responding officer was able to intercept the vehicle in question and observed traffic violations. A traffic stop was initiated and the vehicle operator showed visible signs of impairment. The operator was unable to complete field sobriety tests as had been explained and demonstrated and was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. The operator was also found to be in possession of illegal substances and paraphernalia.
