On January 5, 2021 at 1:09 p.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Route 8, near Aldi Foods, for a two vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers found one vehicle was still in the roadway, blocking a lane of travel. The accident was said to have occurred when the operator of one vehicle was attempting to pull out of a business parking lot to then travel south on Route 8. There was a line of vehicles stopped in the northbound curb lane, and the operator did not see an oncoming vehicle traveling in the passing lane. The operator attempted to exit the parking lot to turn left and collided with the oncoming vehicle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
