On February 17, 2021 at 3:19 p.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Route 8, near Craighead Road, for a two vehicle accident. The two involved vehicles were found to be blocking one lane of travel on Route 8. The accident was said to have occurred when one vehicle, which was traveling in the southbound passing lane of Route 8, was coming to a stop due to a line of vehicles ahead that were stopped and waiting for a vehicle to turn left onto McCully Road. The other involved vehicle failed to stop in time and struck the rear of the slowing vehicle. One vehicle had to be towed from the scene due to extensive damage and one operator was transported to the hospital.
