On March 29, 2021 at 9:28 p.m., Hampton Township Police were dispatched to Route 8 for a two vehicle accident. The reporting party advised dispatch that the other involved vehicle operator was acting odd. Upon officer's arrival, they spoke to the reporting party who advised that they were stopped at a red light when their vehicle was struck from behind. They told the officer that both vehicles pulled into a parking lot, but that the other driver was acting out of sorts when they tried to make contact with them. Upon speaking with the other driver, officers observed multiple signs of impairment. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
