On April 29, 2021 at 10:45 a.m., a resident from Sturbridge Court reported a possible scam via Craigslist. The resident was selling an item on Craigslist and had received an email from an individual who expressed interest in purchasing the product. The individual emailed the resident off and on for multiple days stating that they would send extra money to make up for the resident having to "hold" the item. The resident advised the individual that they did not require extra funds and requested a phone call regarding the purchase, but never received a phone call. The resident then received a cashier's check in the mail a few days later for a large sum of money. The resident was advised to refrain from cashing the check, as this is a very common scam.
