On October 15, 2021 at 12:50p.m., Hampton Township Police were dispatched to the area of South Montour Road near Wildwood Road for a freightliner cab that was over a hillside into a marsh area. The accident occurred when a vehicle began drifting into the oncoming lane of travel. The driver of the freightliner swerved to avoid a collision but ended up over the hillside after fishtailing on wet roadways due to the aggressive maneuver. There were no injuries and the freightliner was able to be pulled back onto the roadway.
