Hampton Township Council held their Regular Meeting on Wednesday, February 23rd; actions from the meeting included:

  • Recognized Hampton resident, Elizabeth Spence, as a Top 100 National Winner of the 2021 Small Town America Civic Volunteer Award
  • Authorized the advertisement of Council's annual Strategic Planning Meeting for Friday, April 22nd
  • Authorized to advertise for bids related to annual construction tradesmen general specifications
  • Adopted Resolution No. 1060 authorizing the filing and taking a portion of four vacant properties related to upgrades to the Allison Park Water Pollution Control Plant
  • Authorized the purchase of Police Body-Worn Camera and In-Car Dash Systems through the Capital Improvement Budget, not to exceed $36,845.  These units will be financed over a five-year period for a total cost of the system at $143,220
  • Authorized to advertise for bids regarding the annual construction equipment and sanitary line cleaning equipment rental
  • Authorized the purchase of a Ford F-550 truck through the Capital Improvement Budget at a not to exceed cost of $125,000
  • Awarded a contract to Vogel Disposal relating to sludge hauling for the Allison Park Water Pollution Control Plant at a rate of $80.90 per ton
  • Approved the Strickland Brothers Conditional Use, and tabled the Strickland Brothers Revised Site Plan awaiting the resolution of the outstanding engineering items.  This proposal is for the redevelopment of property located at 4768 Route 8 (just north of the Allison Park Post Office).  The proposal would include the demolition of the existing vacant commercial building and the construction of a new 1,770 square foot quick-service oil change station
  • Enacted Ordinance No. 848 taking over the road as well as storm and sanitary improvements in the Hampton Place development, with the exception of the detention pond
  • Discussed upcoming community events, including the Litter/Clean-Up Day scheduled for April 2nd, and the Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for April 9th
  • For more detailed information regarding these and other items discussed at the meeting, the minutes will be on the March 23, 2022 agenda for approval and then posted on the Township's website
