On 10/14/2022 at 10:09 a.m., a resident contacted Hampton Township Police to report a scam phone call they had received. The reporting party stated that a male called their cell phone to inform them that they had won 2.5 million dollars and a brand-new Mercedes-Benz. The unknown caller advised that all the resident had to do was pay $199.00 for the delivery of the vehicle and money. The resident immediately knew this was a scam and refused to give any sensitive information. The unknown male then called the home phone of the resident and stated that he knew their address and date of birth. The resident did not provide any information and was not out any money as a result.
