[ARCHIVED] Single Vehicle Accident

On 05/02/2023 at 9:14 pm, Hampton Township Police were dispatched to Wildwood Sample Rd. for a single vehicle accident with entrapment. The vehicle was said to have struck a telephone pole, which embedded the vehicle in wires.

Upon arrival, officers observed the vehicle had struck guide wires coming from a telephone pole but did not cause any damage to the pole itself. Duquesne Light was still notified to check the guide wires. The driver was not trapped inside the vehicle, and no live wires were involved. The driver was conscious, alert and denied any injuries. The driver stated she was driving southbound on Wildwood Sample Rd. when an oncoming vehicle drifted slightly into her lane causing her to swerve to avoid a collision. It should be noted, the roads were wet/slick from rain the entire day. There was minor damage to the passenger side wheel well and headlight of the vehicle. Officers and members of the Hampton Fire Department were able to get the vehicle back onto the roadway, which was still drivable.
