On 7/22/2023 at 9:07 pm, Hampton Twp. Officers were dispatched to Sheetz after a Pennsylvania State Trooper requested their response for a possible DUI driver in the parking lot. The Trooper advised that he was flagged down by another person regarding an individual who appeared to be passed out in a vehicle. The driver had his foot was on the accelerator causing the vehicle engine to rev. It took the Trooper around one minute to wake the driver up. Throughout their interaction with the driver, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was coming from his person and breath, and he was observed to be swaying. He also displayed slow and slurred speech while speaking. After field sobriety testing, he was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
