On 3/9/2025, Hampton Township Police were dispatched to Dollar General, 2412 Ferguson Road, for a report of smoke inside the building and a possible electric fire. Upon arrival, the Peebles Fire Department was on scene, and reporting there was an active fire inside the ceiling at the front of the store. Fire departments from Peebles, Hampton, Undercliff, Elfinwild and Etna were on scene assisting.
The Hampton Fire Marshall was notified of this incident. Duquesne Light was also notified and arrived on scene to cut the power to the Plaza.
