On 1/6/26, Hampton Police were dispatched to the area of Route 8 and East Bardonner Rd. for a possible transformer fire. County dispatch stated they were receiving multiple calls about the traffic lights and power being out in that area.
Upon arrival, Officers observed the traffic lights at Shopper's Plaza and Route 8/East Bardonner Rd. to be completely out. Duquesne Light was notified and responded to the area. Hampton DPW brought generators out for the traffic lights. Officers remained in the area with emergency lights on to slow oncoming drivers until Duquesne Light was able to restore power.
