[ARCHIVED] Township of Hampton Winter Storm Update

As the winter storm approaches this coming weekend, the Township of Hampton Police and Public Works Departments are asking for your help in reviewing the following information so that your families and ours stay safe:

  • Avoid travel if possible…please stay home and off the roads until the storm has passed!!
  • Park in your driveway; do not park in the street or the cul-de-sac.  Driving around parked cars is one of the most challenging tasks for our drivers.  The Police Department will contact you if crews have difficulty maneuvering around your vehicle
  • Do not plow, shovel or blow snow onto the roadway; it is illegal
  • Our Public Works crew will be working throughout the entire storm
  • Roads will not look the same as a typical snow event
  • Roads will be snow covered throughout the storm, with crews focusing on main roads, hills and intersections (salt will be applied primarily to hills and intersections)
  • Towards the end of the storm, all Township-maintained roads (including State roads other than Route 8) will be plowed, salted and cleared
  • Unless you have an emergency, please do not call the Township office/Police Department to report that your street has not been cleared
  • Emergency responses may be delayed due to the road conditions

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this weekend’s storm!!
