On August 14, at 2:19 AM, Police observed a vehicle on Route 8 traveling 60 MPH in a 40 MPH zone. The vehicle continued at the speed of 60 MPH as it passed the 30 MPH work zone speed limit sign. A traffic stop was initiated. While speaking to the driver Officers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle. There were four occupants in the vehicle and they were all under the age of 21. The driver had not been drinking. All four passengers will receive citations for underage drinking. The driver will receive a citation for speeding.
